HOW WE DO IT: mainly with ANALOGUE cameras, we have a genuine addiction for old-school Minox 35s, Canon SLR, Leica rangefinder, Mamiya medium format .. you name it.
We’ve chosen to work with films to convey a feeling of timelessness, a stylisation of the everyday, in the territory of reflection more than that of the news item.
It marks the entrance to another world, built from the fabric of reality but mutated into something else. A newsmaking process with the opposite intent: to give an open range of reading options, instead of providing ready-to-eat positions to stand on.
We also established a quality dark room to develop and print the photographs.
Digital is not banned, of course.
Fallen Empire Studio is based in North London.
